This training is over split weekends. It begins Friday evening at 5pm, all day Saturday, Sunday… and then reconvenes the following weekend, Saturday, and Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. You will comprehensively explore physical sensation through five core-competency areas of study including movement, music, anatomy, science and philosophy. This joyful journey into the self is instrumental in helping you develop body knowing by learning to listen, interpret and consciously respond to the information your body communicates to you via sensation. Nia Green Belt Intensive Training in Denver with Helen Terry

April 29, 2012 – May 3, 2012

In general the Nia Education Program can be divided into five competency areas: Anatomy, Music, Movement, Methodology and Philosophy. In the Green Belt, students will go through a 5-day intensive program that takes all of the 13 White Belt Principles through the framework of the five competency areas specifically to develop teaching skills. In addition to the competency areas, students will continue to perfect their skill at modeling and working with the 52 Moves and demonstrating the moves for different fitness levels. Students will work with the Nia’s 5 Sensations of Fitness: Flexibility, Mobility, Strength, Agility and Stability to deliver the Nia Experience that promises physical fitness through seeking pleasure in the body.

52 Moves Teacher Training with Debbie Rosas ~ Co-Creator of Nia

The Nia 52 Moves Teacher Training & Certification prepares participants to teach Nia 52 Moves classes. It is open to all Nia White Belt graduates, and consists of an optional, 45-day pre-training program, a 2.5-day training and a post-training.

Over the course of this training, you will learn to:

Teach Nia 52 Moves classes
Master the Nia 52 Moves using the 7-cycle class format
Explore the 52 Moves using the nine movement forms of Nia, three planes of movement, three intensity levels, and five sensations of fitness
Present the The Body’s Way anatomy of the 52 Moves
Create choreography and katas using each of the 52 Moves
Follow a three-step process (Learn, Move and Energize)
Deliver the 52 Moves class using a voice-prompted CD
Practice three different 52 Moves routines (focusing on the base, core and upper extremities of the body)
Adapt the Nia 52 Moves class to NiaSounds music playlists
Provide healing and conditioning benefits to students
